St Ann man charged with attempted bribery; $720,000 seized
ST ANN, Jamaica – A 24-year-old man was arrested and charged with possession of information with intent and attempted bribery during an operation on Friday, May 19.
Charged is Yowan Soares, an electrician of Great Pond district, St Ann.
Reports are that between 4:00 am and 8:30 am, a joint operation was conducted in the Great Pond district where a premises was searched. During the search $720,000 was found which he couldn’t properly account for. In addition to this, an onsite analysis of his phone was done and names, social security and telephone numbers of individuals overseas were discovered.
During the process, he reportedly offered to bribe a member of the team the sum of money that was found. He was subsequently arrested and charged.
He is set to appear in court on Thursday, July 6.
