Cavalier set to meet Mt Pleasant in JPL final
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Cavalier FC are on course for a second Jamaica Premier League (JPL) title in three years after beating last season’s winners Harbour View 2-0 in Sunday’s return leg semi-finals at Sabina Park for a 3-0 aggregate win.
Colin Anderson scored both goals on Sunday to take his tally to 19 in the season, one more than Mt Pleasant FA’s Trivante Stewart who also scored a double in his team’s 3-1 win over Arnett Gardens in the other semi-final that was played earlier.
Cavalier FC and Mt Pleasant FA, who are in their first final, will meet in the decider on June 11 also at Sabina Park.
The Rudolph Speid- coached Cavalier lead 1-0 from the first leg played a week earlier and Anderson doubled the advantage in the 15th minute before making it 3-0 in the 57th minute, taking the game out of reach of a Harbour View team that failed to offer any resistance.
