iWrite goes after household name status
Launched as a creative company in 2017, iWrite International through the power of words, video and sound has been working to erase errors as it imprints the business as a household name locally.
Founded by entrepreneur and CEO Erika Heslop Martin, the company offers a wide range of writing and general communication services to clients worldwide.
“iWrite International was started to solve writing, editing, proofreading, publishing, voice over and communication skills problems. Through the services currently offered, the company seeks to satisfy the need for preparing creative and professionally written, error-free documents to clients locally and internationally,” Heslop Martin said.
“We aim to eliminate the written and oral communication challenges to produce error-free documents in a timely manner, while offering solutions to address writing problems, customer service and business coaching needs,” she added.
Currently understaffed and in need of more resources, Heslop Martin said that efforts remain ongoing to fast track the growth and future expansion of the business.
“At the moment the company is being built out to develop a unique brand while establishing a strong network and increased visibility. With the right support system and proper funding, I believe we can grow the business exponentially while increasing revenue growth.
“Within the next 3-5 years the goal is to also transition iWrite International to becoming a unique brand and a household name for writing, editing, proofreading, publishing, voice overs and all other needs,” she stated, outlining book publications, business proposals, reports, policies, web pages, social media content, motivational speeches and training material among the long list of written documents and services the business now offers.
As a budding author Heslop Martin who has also been working to carve out a space for her work along with that for clients, said she is very focused and strategic about how she markets and promote the various contents produced. Some of her personal pieces includes: A Poetic Revelation, The Power of Words, A Poetic Journey, Live write and Inspire and popular kids’s book ‘Chidren are like flowers’.
“As it relates to our published books [print, electronic and audio], the aim is to have all these being sold by Amazon, Barnes and Noble as well as other book and gift shops around the world. My vision is for iWrite to become a sought after player in the space – inspiring and empowering clients to achieve their goals,” she said.
Based in Kingston but also operating virtually, the over five-year-old company primarily works with business professionals, small business owners, corporate entities and churches, having its CEO single-handedly running operations, accessing additional support only where necessary.
“I am the sole proprietor and employee of the business and I outsource all the relevant services to different entities and my husband [Neil Martin] is my IT consultant, offering significant support to the business in that area,” Heslop Martin said.
Working with a number of partners and local stakeholder groups including the Young Entrepreneurs Association of Jamaica (YEA), Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ), Scotiabank Women Initiative, JMMB SME Resource Centre, Women’s Entrepreneurship Network of the Caribbean, Jamaican Writers Society, JAMCOPY and several others, iWrite said it has been aggressively pushing to access proper financing in order to give the business the best push start.
“At iWrite the ultimate aim is to deliver high quality services to our clients and to keep them coming back for a lifetime. As we work to hone the craft and to establish a presence in the local and international markets, the intention is to create a competitive advantage which will help us to stand out in an environment which is already saturated with a number of other similar type businesses,” the CEO said.
