Versi has high hopes
Recording artiste Versi hopes that his latest track Wah A Gwaan Yah will catapult his career.
Produced by Romeich Entertainment, the track was released in May.
“My ultimate hope for this go across the world and stand out as one of the top songs on the juggling or for 2023 for that matter,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
“This song is about dancing, endorsing flossing, and just vibes. I wanted to do something fun that people could enjoy,” he added.
The track is featured on the Inna Dem Head rhythm and has been performing well since it hit the airwaves.
The accompanying music video, which premièred on June 20, 2023, has been gaining traction, already accumulating almost 300,000 views on YouTube.
With this being the first time working together since Romeich managed Versi, the collaboration has been a fruitful one.
“The feedback has been great so far, so I’m looking forward to what happens next with this track. I hope it reaches far and more people will enjoy it,” the artiste continued.
He also said that music has created spaces for him across all inches of the world.
“My career has taken me to places across the world and among some of the greatest in the genre; I’ve even gotten the chance of working with some of my idols growing up. Therefore, I wouldn’t complain. However I’m far from where I aspire to be so I’m still hungry and enthusiastic to do a lot more,” he said.
The artiste, whose given name is Sheldon Taylor, has had previous releases such as Spaceship, Dat A Dat, Sacrifice and Winning Streak. The artiste says he will soon add more tracks to his catalogue including an EP/mixtape later this year and a début album in 2024.
