Krispy Kreme Launches Independence Doughnuts for the Holidays

Kingston, Jamaica, July 31, 2023 – Krispy Kreme doughnut lovers are well acquainted with popular flavours like glazed strawberry- filled which is proving a favourite here since the opening of the flagship shop in Kingston on June 3, 2023. Now they are in for an even bigger treat with the launch of the independence limited time offer featuring three flavours that Jamaicans love.

Making the announcement, Nadia Kiffin Green, head of sales and marketing, Restaurant Associates Ltd (RAL), franchisees for Krispy Kreme, said, “The Emancipendence holiday is such a special time for every Jamaican that we thought about how best to celebrate with our countrymen and women. The response is in the three new doughnut flavours- Mango Surprise, Chocolate Iced Coconut Kreme Filled, and original filled Lemon, which hit the market on July 31, 2023.”

Noting that a “lot of thought and research went into developing the new flavours for Jamaica,” Kiffin Green said, “Mango, chocolate, coconut, and lemon are big favourites here, whatever the age group and perfect for the long hot summer. There are another nine flavours, so we are certain that every palate will be pleased”.

Bradley Perkins, assistant brand manager for Krispy Kreme, said, “The new flavours are easily identifiable as they feature green and gold stripes on the outside – we are saying Happy Independence Jamaica with two of the prominent colours of the Jamaican flag.”

“They are amazing, and like all Krispy Kreme doughnuts, each one is made fresh daily, from scratch and hand filled and are perfectly complemented by Kreme’s specialty coffee blend and iced beverages,” he added.

News of the Independence flavours is creating a buzz while a great deal of excitement is being generated by Krispy Kreme’s one-of-a-kind famous Hot Light Experience, which delivers hot original glazed doughnuts whenever the ‘Hot Now’ sign is lit up. The “Hotlight Hour” occurs at the store’s Doughnut Theatre (1 Waterloo Road) between 7:00 am -10:00 am and 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
