Transport Authority prosecutes 1,800 operators during Operation Streamline in September
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Transport Authority says it has prosecuted over 1,800 operators for various transportation breaches, resulting in approximately $7m in Court fines during Operation Streamline, which was launched in September 2023.

In a release on Monday, Ralston Smith, managing director at the Transport Authority stated that the operation was to restore order in the Kingston Metropolitan Transport Region and other parts of the country, through strategic operational activities, undertaken through collaboration with the Jamaica Constabulary Force and Justices of the Peace.
To date, 437 operations have been undertaken in major townships island-wide to increase the usage of terminal facilities, reduce congestion and improve order.
In the meantime, the Authority says it is intensifying “Operation Streamline” to increase order in the city and townships as it seeks to provide a safe, reliable and orderly transportation sector.
It is also reminding operators to provide transportation service that conforms to their licences as failure to do so may result in prosecution, seizure, suspension or revocation of their road licences.
