Competitive-looking Sir Howard Stakes

The native-bred three-year-old colts and geldings will start their journey on the ‘Road to the Triple Crown” in the $1.2-million Sir Howard Stakes, a non-winners of two event over 6 furlongs (1,200m) on Sunday, March 24, 2024.

Below is the analysis of the six runners down to compete.

1. ALLEGIANCE: (3 ch c by Midnight Hawk – Princess Geeta) – The most experience runner in the line-up with four outings.
Allegiance is not expected to figure here.

2. J SPIETH : (3 gr c by Spieth – Alice and Trixie) – Made a successful debut at the races on March 2. After walking out of the starting gates,J Spieth recovered to beat rivals by 7 ¼ lengths in a time of 1:37.4. With scope for improvement and leaving the starting gates in good order, J Spieth is going to take a lot of beating here.

3. TEFLON DON : (3 b c by Casual Trick – The Lady Scored) – Was impressive on debut when winning over the straight (1,000m) on February 10.
Telfon Don won by 8 lengths in a time of 1:1.2.
Teflon Don is expected to do well here once again.

4. WORLD SURPRISE: (3 b c by Sunshine N Shadow – Eighteen Karat) – Makes his seasonal debut here. World Surprise was a winner on debut on December 23, 2023 over five furlongs straight where he won by 8 ¼ lengths in 1:00.2.
World Surprise is expected to make a brave bid here.

5. KING’S CROWN: (3 ch c by Berlino Di Tiger – Dancing Queen) – Has no chance of winning.

6. PLAYFAIR: (3 b c by Sensational Slam – I Am The One) – Also was a winner on debut. Playfair won by a short head over four furlongs (800m) in 48.2 on January 1.
Playfair should play a prominent role here.
