#ParisOlympics: Navasky Anderson ends 800m quest at Olympics
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Navasky Anderson ended his competitive schedule at the Olympic Games on Thursday morning after he finished fifth in his heat of the men’s 800m in the repechage round, running 1:46.01.
His time was better than the 1:46.82 he had run in Wednesday’s first round, but was not good enough to see him advance to the semi-finals.
The national record holder had a good start and was well-placed after the first 400m which he split in 52.4 seconds but faded in the final 60 metres.
Former Jamaica College runner Handal Roban of St Vincent failed to advance as well after finishing in fourth place just ahead of Anderson.
