Long Story Short celebrates 5th anniversary with spectacular showcase

Long Story Short, a rich mix of live music paired with compelling storytelling marks its 5th anniversary with the edition themed ‘Who Knows?’ set for Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Bridget Sandals, 1A Abbeydale Road.

Patrons can look forward to being entertained by the narratives of acclaimed music producer and entertainment marketing strategist Cordel “Skatta” Burrell, motivational speaker and entrepreneur Kevin Wallen, film-maker Mezan Ayoka, social commentator/content creator Elias Fennel, and the musical enigma Panic, among others, who will delve into personal stories surrounding this powerful theme.

Daniel T Edwards, the visionary behind this unique experience, stated: “It is said it takes five years to build a brand. This edition of Long Story Short… will showcase the growth, evolution, and staying power of the Caribbean’s latest and greatest cultural extravaganza.”

He continued; “I hope this staging will continue illuminating the rich tapestry of Caribbean oratory culture and inspire future generations to keep our storytelling traditions alive.”

The musical line-up complementing the fantastic stories is bound to set the stage alight. The evening will feature musical performances by Ecina and 2022 Digicel Rising Star winner Mozein.

In keeping with Long Story Short’s commitment to giving back, a portion of the proceeds will support SOS Children’s Villages Jamaica, aiding in their mission to care for the nation’s most vulnerable.

The SOS Children’s Village has unceasingly supported at-risk children in Jamaica for over 50 years.

The Long Story Short storytelling showcase is staged bi-monthly at the venue and allows storytellers to share about themselves under the theme of the night in seven minutes or less in a conversational fashion. It’s also a space where one musical guest per show reminds attendees why Jamaica is the biggest talent pool in the Caribbean.

Daniel T Edwards, the mastermind behind Long Story Short, captivates the audience at a previous staging.
