Eliza Moreira Marcelino de Castro, ambassador of Brazil to Jamaica, and James Goren, honorary consul of Brazil in Montego Bay, hosted fellow members of the diplomatic corps as well other stakeholders for an evening of celebration of Brazil’s 202 Years of Independence, 135 Years of the Federative Republic and 62 years of diplomatic relations between Brazil and Jamaica.

Celebrations unfolded last Saturday at Goren’s stunning Stella by the Sea Villa at the Tryall Club in Hanover, where guests mingled while indulging in sips of cocktails and delicious bites from the villa’s in-house chef.

Ambassador Marcelino de Castro and Tom Tavares-Finson, president of the Senate of Jamaica, brought greetings and spoke of the sustained friendship and strong diplomatic ties between the two countries. They also expressed hope for deepening ties to include further economic trade.
