Disco Meets Dancehall making waves

Disco Meets Dancehall making waves

Dancehall music is definitely not new to collaborations with other genres, creating interesting fusion sounds that complement the dynamic Jamaican musical space and challenge dancehall acts to step out of the proverbial box.

Forward-thinking producers Lando Genius Records and Tall King Production had this in mind when they started promoting Disco Meets Dancehall.

The project merges the fast-paced dance floor groove of disco with the intense beat of dancehall and originally recorded and released on a disco beat. Producer and artiste Esco Da Shocker heard the track and immediately got inspired.

“After hearing Maajesty’s song I suggested to him that we can market the project on an international level if he is willing to do a re-release. I saw where if we fused the beat with dancehall we could create a sound capable of creating a new wave in dancehall. When Bounty Killer heard the beat he immediately got inspired to do a high energy song and that’s the effect we were going for. We are looking forward to seeing how far this juggling project will go,” Esco Da Shocker, CEO of Tall King Production, shared.

Disco Meets Dancehall features artistes such as Bounty Killer and D’yani with their collaboration Happy Vibes, Esco Da Shocker’s Gyallis Blood, Sanjay and Harmonique on their track On The Go, and Maajesty with Jiggy Wid It.

Producer Esco Da Shocker is known for maintaining his presence as an artiste as well with tracks such as Jump and Rock as well as with his extensive production catalogue inclusive of releases from Vybz Kartel, Bounty Killer, I-Octane, among others. Additional projects from Lando Genius include Tifa’s single Man Government and his most recent juggling project,
Money Up rhythm, which features Shawn Storm, Rytikal, and more.

Disco Meets Dancehall is considered unique and eclectic in its own right, using instruments to give listeners a different energy from what is currently trending in dancehall. The project is fun and positive music that fans can dance to, giving a positive influence to today’s youth, who are also gravitating to the songs in the streets and in the social space.

“A lot of people are making dance videos all over the world and that tells us that our marketing campaign is working. The project is doing exceptionally well in the streets, while actively being play listed by disc jocks from various countries. I’m happy I decided to be a part of this project” Lando Genius added.

Currently on his European tour, Esco Da Shocker is also taking the opportunity to add an extra layer of target marketing to his campaign by continuously introducing it to new fans worldwide.
