Arabian Nights

Tuesday Style Fashion (TSF) shares a few standouts who fully committed to the Arabian Nights theme at Frenchmen Climax held at Caymanas Fairways on Wednesday, January 1. From Miss Jamaica World 2022 Shanique Singh’s Jacqueline Spence design, Brett Wong’s suit — sourced from an Arab store in Miami — to Superintendent of Police Garfield “Bucka” Taylor’s luxury garment and pagri by Dubai’s leading bespoke tailoring company SuitFreek, and House of Neah Lis custom designs on principal Lisa McIntosh and Select Brands Luxury Portfolio Manager Debra Taylor Smith, TSF shares details behind each look.

Garfield “Bucka” Taylor

Design House: SuitFreek Tailors

Designer: Mohammad Asif Siddiqui

Fabric Description: Luxurious Italian brocade silk meets Arabian flair in a stunning jacket adorned with intricate handwork.

Headgear/Pagri: Represents regional heritage and traditions, indicates marital status, profession, or social standing, and is worn during religious ceremonies and festivals.

Style notes and inspiration: “My inspiration for our dresses was vintage glam with a twist of the ‘Arabian Nights’ theme. I love bold prints and colours, so I went with prints for our skirts and solid for the tops, and did billowing sleeves, for a bold statement,” shared principal Lisa McIntosh. The execution time for both dresses was two days.
