Today… I Do
Wherever the road of life takes us, we’ll go together... (Photo: JRoyalProductions)

August 12, 2025

Today… I Do

We’re here, right now, it’s forever

These tears, they know joy by name

Beautiful, seems to have made an appearance

On our face, we have us to blame

Seriously, I’ll take this commitment

Spiritually, you’re everything I wanted

Today I do, today I do

Today I’m saying I do to you

Today I do, today I do, ooh

— Today I Do by Tamia

Tracia Ferguson and Sean Gillespie-West’s love story is one of fate. Although their lives took different turns after high school, destiny had a plan to reunite them. Their reunion sparked a love that led to a beautiful ceremony at the White Witch Golf Course, Rose Hall, Montego Bay, on June 28, 2025, where they celebrated their happily ever after with an intimate circle of their loved ones.

Their connection can be traced all the way back to 1991 at Muschett High School. While they were merely classmates then, focused on teenage life, those early memories would eventually form the foundation of their future together. “We were just kids then, navigating school life. I never imagined that our paths would cross again in such a meaningful way years later,” Tracia shared with Tuesday Style Vows (TSV). Life took them on separate journeys after graduation, and they lost touch. But they reconnected years later on Facebook. Their reunion felt both new and wonderfully familiar, and a comfort quickly settled between them.

“Once we reconnected, there was an instant comfort and familiarity. That’s when I realised the attraction was real — and mutual,” Tracia said.

While an ocean initially kept them apart, with Sean in the United States, Tracia’s move there in 2011 marked the true beginning of their relationship.

There wasn’t a single “aha” moment that revealed to Tracia that Sean was her soulmate. Instead, it was a combination of small gestures and countless moments that made her feel safe and secure; the most profound of these was the way he embraced her daughter, Amber, from a previous relationship. With a daughter of his own, Sean understood the importance of family, and together, they didn’t just fall in love — they lovingly brought their two families together.

“For me, it was the everyday kindness, the way he treated me and my daughter, and the ease with which we built a life together,” Tracia said. “That’s when I knew he was the one.”

As the world prepared to welcome a new year, Sean gave Tracia the best start to theirs — proposing on December 31, 2023.

“It was right after we returned home from dinner. We went into the living room with my family and Sean expressed his unwavering love, got down on one knee, and asked me to be his forever and ever,” Tracia said. “It was heartfelt, intimate, and perfect.”

Two years after their engagement, their dream wedding came to life with the help of Tropical Chic Weddings & Events. Dressed in a white tuxedo, Sean waited at the altar as Tracia, radiant in a two-in-one couture strapless plunge bodice gown by Esé Azénabor, walked up the aisle. Tracia was escorted by her brother Dave Whittaker to the sounds of Tamia’s Today I Do, ready to commit her future to Sean, guided by Pastor Junior Rutty.

Following the ceremony, the festivities continued with a grand banquet catered by Epic Plating. The reception was filled with heartfelt toasts, including a special tribute from Amber. After cutting their five-tiered fruitcake provided by Cake by Damaine, Sean and Tracia graced the dance floor, swaying to Jesse Powell’s You, perfectly encapsulating the magic of the evening and their new life together.

The newly-weds honeymooned in London and the Maldives.
