Beauty Radar: Glam Haus Ja
In a world where beauty and lifestyle increasingly intersect, Gabrielle Waite is carving out a space that speaks to the modern woman’s evolving needs. Since founding Gabby Glam Co in 2017, the make-up artist and self-proclaimed #GlamGirl has cultivated a brand synonymous with confidence, convenience, and modern femininity. Now, with the introduction of Glam Haus, Waite expands her vision beyond the make-up chair, offering a refined beauty prep destination tailored to women constantly on the move. Equal parts luxury and practicality, the space embodies a new era of beauty culture — one where self-care, style, and convenience seamlessly coexist. Tuesday Style Beauty (TSB) reveals more
TSB: Tell us about Gabrielle Waite and how Gabby Glam Co began.
GW: Growing up, I would often accompany my mom on her make-up jobs. At the time, it was never something I imagined myself doing professionally, but I always loved seeing the final reveal, the confidence boost clients would get when they saw themselves all glammed up. I started out simply assisting her, carrying her chair and make-up kit from job to job. Over time, that gradually evolved into helping with cleaning brushes, skin prep and eventually doing make-up myself. Little by little, I began building my own clientele, and that journey eventually became the start of Gabby Glam Co in 2017.
TSB: You recently launched Glam Haus, which you describe as Jamaica’s first prep studio. What exactly is a prep studio, and what gap did you see in the market that inspired the concept?
GW: Glam Haus was really created with the everyday, on-the-go woman in mind, especially women in corporate, busy moms, and women constantly transitioning from one responsibility or event to the next. I realised there was a gap in the market when it came to the actual getting-ready experience. Most times, people focus so much on the event itself, but where you get ready matters just as much as where you’re going.
A prep studio is essentially a luxe, calming space designed to make the process of getting ready feel enjoyable, peaceful, and elevated. For example, a woman can leave work, come to Glam Haus, get her make-up done, unwind a bit, get dressed in the space, and then head straight to her next event feeling refreshed and confident. We’ve curated the experience to feel like a home away from home — guests are welcomed with coffee, tea, mocktails, cocktails, or wine, and we’ll even have accessories available for women who may have forgotten something while rushing to get ready.
At the same time, Glam Haus was also created to support make-up artists and beauty creatives. Not every artist has access to a studio space, so we wanted to provide a luxe environment where artists can book stations, bring their own clients, and allow them to enjoy the full Glam Haus experience and amenities.
The space is also ideal for bridal parties and group glam experiences. Brides and bridal parties can come in, get fully ready together in a beautiful environment, and we can even coordinate transportation from Glam Haus to the ceremony venue. At its core, Glam Haus is about community, creativity, peace, and experience. It’s a space designed not just for beauty services, but for connection, confidence, and making the getting-ready process feel just as memorable as the event itself.
The name “Glam Haus” really came from the idea of creating a home for all things glam a space that represents everything I do creatively within beauty and beyond. It was actually one of the first names and concepts I ever coined, and over time, I began thinking about how the different brands and ideas I’ve created could eventually fall under that umbrella.
To me, Glam Haus represents more than just a studio. It’s meant to be a creative home, an umbrella brand that houses the different ventures I’ve built so far, while also creating room for the future brands, experiences, and ideas that are still to come. It represents growth, creativity, community, and the evolution of the Gabby Glam brand as a whole.
TSB: Many people are familiar with Gabby Glam Co, but there’s also Glam Hub and now Glam Haus. How do these different brands or spaces connect within your overall vision?
GW: Each brand was created with its own purpose, but they all connect under one overall vision creating experiences centred on beauty, confidence, community, and glam.
So although each brand serves a different purpose, they all work together to create one larger ecosystem revolving around glam, experience, creativity, and community.
TSB: On a personal level, what does launching Glam Haus mean to you, especially as a young entrepreneur building within Jamaica’s beauty industry?
GW: Launching Glam Haus is deeply personal, especially as I approach 30. It’s a moment that made me reflect on my purpose, legacy, and impact. I kept asking myself what I could build that gives back and creates lasting value. Glam Haus became the answer; not just something for me, but something for others.
At the core of everything I do is a desire to contribute to the growth of Jamaica’s beauty industry. We have incredibly talented artists here, and I believe Jamaica has the potential to be globally recognised not just for music or sport, but for beauty as well.
I want Glam Haus to contribute to that bigger vision, creating opportunities, building community, nurturing creativity, and helping to put Jamaican beauty on a global stage.
Ultimately, I hope Glam Haus becomes a space rooted in community, where beauty is both an experience and a connection, and where everyone who enters feels uplifted in some way.
