It’s #TheGrahamsfiChue!: From Game Partners to Life Partners
There was an effortless symmetry to the love story of entrepreneur and logistics manager Matthew Graham and attorney-at-law Chevaughn Chue — one that began with a chance encounter and blossomed into a union grounded in faith, family, and shared vision.
How They Met
The couple first crossed paths on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at an East Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists’ social.
“We’re both Seventh-day Adventists. I’m from East Jamaica Conference (EJC) and Matthew is from West Jamaica Conference (WJC). The ministry from WJC was invited to host the social being held by EJC. Matthew was one of the persons leading out the activities but I was there for the fun of it. As we were about to play the games that required you to have a partner, I was looking for one. I saw Matthew and asked him to be my partner and he agreed. However, he was integral in coordinating the activities so he would go see to that, at intervals, and then return. One of those times, we were about to play a different game, so I found another partner. Matthew came back and was standing in front of us with arms folded. I had to playfully push the other guy away and let Matthew know that he’s still my partner,” Chevaughn said.
“From that point we have been partners till we have now decided to be life partners and it’s till death do us part,” Matthew interjected.
“Our relationship progressed over the years because we were intentional about maintaining a connection and not spending weekends apart. I lived in Kingston and Matthew is from Montego Bay; that meant a lot of travelling and alternating weekends between both cities. It was great as I ended up with a travelling partner as we’re both adventurous. It was all worth it,” Chevaughn explained.
“During all that movement, we never found it to be difficult. We did it with happiness,” Matthew stated.
The Proposal
“The proposal was planned entirely by me. I put together a team of four people, and I spent days and nights planning and making sure everything was perfect. I held everything together. The team and I executed my vision and I was able to surprise her. We did it at RIU Negril on the day before her birthday. After dinner, I asked her to go for a walk, and she walked right into her proposal, just moments after wondering out loud what could be happening under the gazebo, and I encouraged her to let us go and have a look. That was a phenomenal moment for me,” Matthew said.
The Wedding
On Sunday, March 29, 2026 against the tranquil backdrop of Water’s Edge Villa in Montego Bay, the couple exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony officiated by Pastor Damion Austin.
“I envisioned our wedding as an extremely sacred moment where we present ourselves before God and invite Him to play an even greater role in our lives as a couple. Then we move into a high-energy, fun celebration as we are both high-energy, fun-loving individuals,” she said. “The only vision I had was to make you happy. Also, where our families would join together and be happy,” Matthew chimed in.
Chevaughn, escorted by her father Andrew Chue, made her way up the aisle in a gown by local designer Rebirth Couture to I Choose You by Ryann Darling. Matthew, who was dapper in a tailored suit from Mochee London, became emotional as he awaited his bride.
Following the ceremony, the newly-weds and their bridal party made their way to the scenic Harmony Beach Park for their official portraits. The celebration spilled into an impromptu photo session along Howard Cooke Boulevard, capturing spontaneous moments against the vibrant pulse of the city.
The festivities continued at Grand A View Hotel, where family and friends gathered for a lively reception. True to Chevaughn’s vision, the evening transitioned seamlessly from sacred to celebratory — filled with energy, warmth, and highlighted by live music and standout performances.
