Image Plus growth plan takes shape
IMAGE Plus Consultants Limited is positioning itself for stronger growth through acquisitions and expansion while aiming to keep diagnostic services affordable for Jamaican patients.
The company reported a one per cent increase in revenues to $1.09 billion, with CEO Kisha Anderson indicating that growth from the acquisitions of The Woman’s Place and Island Radiology Limited is expected to continue accelerating into the 2027 financial year.
“The growth in revenue that will come will not only come from the existing portfolio of business but also from these newly acquired locations, and the rate of growth of revenues will definitely outpace any additional expense on our books,” she said confidently during a recent earnings call hosted by Investor Curated.
Anderson noted that the larger contribution is expected to come from Island Radiology, which she said should drive revenue growth at a faster pace from its operations. That acquisition is being financed through debt, however, the company indicated that repayments will be covered by revenues generated from the acquired portfolio rather than existing revenues or profits. The financing was secured under a five-year loan. The Island Radiology acquisition is expected to be completed by the second quarter. The Woman’s Place acquisition, meanwhile, was completed through a cash purchase.
Image Plus is also looking at consolidating parts of its operations as part of broader efforts to strengthen brand awareness and service delivery while further cementing the Image Plus brand in the market.
“Though this year, the growth was at a modest level, I think that we’ve demonstrated in the midst of all of that we are still able to focus and grow the business, and I think that our shareholders that have been patient with us in the last two years will see that benefit redound to them as we are on a solid platform for growth,” Anderson said.
Net profit rose 10.8 per cent to $48.7 million compared to the corresponding period last year. Total scan counts rose 3.2 per cent above 2025 levels to roughly 55,000 100 scans, with the strongest increases coming from ultrasound and mammography services. Mammography growth was partly driven by the acquisition of The Woman’s Place, while ultrasound volumes increased at the company’s Ocho Rios and Molynes Road locations. Although revenues have remained relatively flat around the $1-billion mark over the last three years, the company’s net profit position has seen sharper swings as management focuses on cost control rather than price increases in an inflationary environment.
Anderson expressed that affordability remains a major concern as many Jamaicans still do not adequately benefit from health insurance coverage. Image Plus has also written to the National Health Fund seeking support for additional tests and screenings, following previous subsidies provided for mammograms and prostate screenings.
“What’s the point in pricing yourself to a level that people can’t afford to use the service?” she asked rhetorically. “That’s not the model we are going for; we are trying to strike that happy balance to be fair to our shareholders, but also our patients.”
Beyond acquisitions, the company is also continuing to push ahead with physical expansion plans of the development of a new six-floor facility at 33 Lady Musgrave Road (LMR), in St Andrew. Construction at the LMR location is now at an advanced stage, with the structure completed and interior build-out and systems design currently underway. The company expects the facility to be ready for occupancy by December 2026, with additional details and renderings expected to be shared at its upcoming annual general meeting.
ANDERSON… what’s the point in pricing yourself to a level that people can’t afford to use the service? That’s not the model we are going for.
