Ginjah spreads faith and encouragement with ‘God Is Good’
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Reggae singer Ginjah is delivering a heartfelt message of faith, hope and perseverance through his latest single, God Is Good, featured on the Kiss Of Judas Riddim project produced by Kemar McGregor.
The uplifting track sees the reggae artiste reflecting on life’s hardships while reminding listeners to remain grounded in faith despite difficult circumstances.
“It’s more than just a song title, it’s a reminder that even through struggle, pain and uncertainty, there’s still hope, purpose and a higher calling,” Ginjah shared. “I wanted listeners to feel encouraged and spiritually uplifted.”
Although the song was originally penned by McGregor, Ginjah said he infused the recording with his own signature style and emotion.
“This song was written by Kemar McGregor, I only added some spice to it, like the intro and the last verse,” he explained. “I think it’s a beautiful and inspiring song, reminding people that God is everywhere and he’s truly amazing.”
Interestingly, the singer revealed that he initially overlooked the riddim after receiving it late last year. However, months later, the lyrics resonated with him during a deeply personal moment.
“In March, while clearing messages from my phone, I stumbled upon the words of the song and kept reading them because they were speaking directly to my life,” he said. “That’s when I decided to voice the song.”
The collaboration also continues a longstanding musical relationship between Ginjah and McGregor, who have worked together for more than two decades.
“Me and Flava have been working together for over 20 years now, so from time to time he links me to voice on his projects,” Ginjah noted. “He has a strong vision when it comes to quality music and meaningful productions.”
As the Kiss Of Judas Riddim gains traction internationally, the reggae singer believes audiences are gravitating toward the authenticity and emotional honesty embedded throughout the project.
“The music is real, emotional and relatable,” he said. “The themes on the project — loyalty, betrayal, faith, struggle and perseverance — are things people everywhere can understand.”
For Ginjah, the success of the project also serves as proof that conscious reggae music continues to resonate globally despite changing musical trends.
“It reminds artistes and producers that staying true to the roots and delivering genuine messages can still reach people worldwide,” he expressed.
The singer added that the most meaningful responses have come from listeners who say the song has strengthened or inspired them during challenging moments in their lives, something he considers one of the greatest rewards of making music with purpose.
