Valiant, Shenseea deliver summer track My Turn

Dancehall recording artistes Valiant and Shenseea are turning heads across the Caribbean and beyond with the release of My Turn , the lead single from producer Tarik “Rvssian” Johnston’s Island Villa Riddim.

Accompanied by a visually striking music video that premièred on Head Concussion TV’s YouTube channel on May 24, the collaboration is quickly emerging as an early contender for one of the summer’s defining dancehall releases.

Released through Head Concussion Records and distributed and marketed globally by Hapilos, My Turn pairs two of Jamaica’s most recognisable contemporary artistes on a record that blends infectious melodies and playful chemistry.

The song captures a flirtatious exchange between Valiant and Shenseea, exploring mutual attraction and romantic desire through catchy hooks and melodic performances. The result is a modern dancehall love story.

The accompanying video, directed by Shane Creative, further elevates the release through a carefully curated visual concept inspired by the fashion and pop culture of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Viewers are treated to scenes featuring oversized sports jerseys, durags, headbands, kerchiefs, statement jewellery, tinted glasses, and vintage gaming references that defined the era. Shot across multiple locations, including an arcade and luxury villa setting, the video incorporates nostalgic elements such as Pac-Man-inspired visuals and hand-held gaming devices reminiscent of the Game Boy era.

My Turn highlights the continued influence of Rvssian, widely regarded as one of dancehall’s most accomplished producers. Through Head Concussion Records, he has consistently demonstrated an ability to merge Jamaican music with global sounds, helping to shape some of the genre’s most successful records over the past decade.

With strong audience engagement, growing online conversation, and a creative concept that bridges generations of music fans, My Turn is proving that great collaborations remain one of dancehall’s most powerful formulas.
