Vibes Matrixxx tries his hand at Cash Pot
Of the numerous games of chance in Jamaica over the years, Cash Pot is arguably the most popular. It has thousands of fans among the common man, including dancehall artiste Vibes Matrixxx.
Cash Pot is also the name of Portmore-based deejay’s latest song.
Produced by Signature Records, it was released in March, and acknowledges the lottery game’s social impact as well as its grass roots popularity.
“I did the song about Cash Pot because I was inspired by the people in the streets that buy it for a living. For most of them, it’s a hustling that they live off, so I thought of a song because of them,” Vibes Matrixxx told the Jamaica Observer.
While not an avid player of the Cash Pot game, he said he takes a chance “now and then”, because, “When you buy big, you win big.”
The Cash Pot game was launched in 2001 by Supreme Ventures Limited. It has become one of that company’s most profitable initiatives, along with horse racing at Caymanas Park.
Based on its rules, players can choose one of 36 numbers at a minimum wager of $10. There are six daily draws.
Vibes Matrixxx has been in the dancehall game for over 15 years. Rude Bwoy Keith and Hype Phone are two of his previous songs.
