Guinness pull up delivers high-energy dancehall vibes
KINGSTON, Jamaica — It was straight dancehall vibes at Saturday’s second staging of Guinness Pull Up, which took place at the National Arena car park.
Headlined by dancehall stars RajahWild and Kraff, patrons enjoyed their high-energy sets, which comprised some of their biggest hits.
Not to be left out, a high cadre of DJs, including Fyahman, Code Specs, Johnny Kool, Little Richie, Javy Supreme, DJ Dedical, Badda Bling, Niney Badness and DJ Haley, kept the musical vibes flowing all throughout the proceedings.
RajahWild, who returned to the island a few days earlier, told Observer Online that he missed performing for his local fans.
“A mad ting fi deh back inna Jamaica still. Mi deh all over the world and more, while mi miss the place and the fans. But is a good feeling fi deh ya, fi perform for the fans because the energy is always right,” said RajahWild.
Nadine Hylton, brand manager for Guinness, reflected on the event.
“So we had a good staging of Guinness Pull Up this year. We started on a really high bar last year and I think we managed to maintain the energy and the pull. This year’s structure kinda brought out the element of the Pull Up idea and the audience was engaged in terms of identifying their favourite song. All in all, it was a good staging,” Hylton told Observer Online.
She shared what, for her, was the high point of the proceedings.
“I think the high point was how engaged the audience was. We also had a lot of our customers who came from far and wide just to support, just because its Guinness. That for me was a strong high point,” Hylton disclosed.
