KINGSTON, Jamaica — Police Corporal Cliff Coleman was honoured with full police rites during a thanksgiving service at the Portmore Seventh-day Adventist Church on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, as family, friends and fellow officers gathered to celebrate his life and service.
Coleman had been ailing for some time as a result of injuries he received while on duty.
Senior Superintendent Lloyd Darby, head of the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (PSTEB), joined several of Coleman’s batchmates in paying tribute to the lawman and extending condolences to his relatives.

Coleman’s injuries stemmed from a September 2005 shooting while he was assigned to the Portmore police as a detective.
While gathering information for a robbery case before the court, he was reportedly ambushed by a member of the Klansman Gang and shot multiple times, including in the throat, hip and foot.
