Top DJs for Elegance: The Ballroom Experience

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Some of Jamaica’s top DJs are set to bring a mix of nostalgia, elegance and high-energy entertainment to Elegance: The Ballroom Experience on July 19, promising an unforgettable night of music, dancing and style at the Jamaica Pegasus.

The event is scheduled to run from 5 pm until 11 pm with Master Rogj, Welton Irie, DJ VJ Snow, and Krazy Kris all promising that patrons will leave wanting more.

For DJ VJ Snow, being part of the lineup is a privilege, as the event represents a celebration of “class, style, and timeless music.” Known for his DJ VJ experience, Snow plans to bring an added dimension to the night by pairing classic songs with the original music videos that helped make them iconic.

“I’m looking forward to seeing the reaction of the patrons as they enjoy not only the music, but also the videos that accompany the songs. Many people have never experienced seeing the original music videos while dancing to the songs, so I’m excited to bring something different and memorable to the event,” Snow told the Observer Online.

He said patrons can also expect an audio-visual journey filled with nostalgia, featuring soul classics from the 70s, 80s, and 90s.

“At Elegance Ballroom Experience, you’re not just coming to hear the music — you’re coming to see the music,” Snow added.

Event promoter Isaiah Laing, ACP Christopher Phillips, graphic designer Andrew Waisome, and publicist Ramona Samuels.

Veteran selector Welton Irie is also anticipating a memorable night, especially seeing patrons arrive dressed to impress and ready to enjoy themselves.

“You don’t want to miss this opportunity to be entertained by some of the best in the business and the chance to dance all night,” he said.

With decades of experience behind him, Welton Irie explained that preparation comes naturally. “Been doing it so long I know exactly what to play and when to play certain songs. After years of doing it, I can do it blindfolded.”

Patrons can expect nothing short of quality entertainment from his set. “Expect the best of the best from whatever genre I’m selecting,” he said.

For Master Rogj, being selected for the event is an honour and an opportunity to connect with the audience through music.

“It is truly an honour to be a part of this lineup. I appreciate the opportunity to share my music and energy from Tiffany Disco with the patrons,” he said.

“Patrons can expect an unforgettable musical experience filled with elegance, versatility, nostalgia, and vibrant energy. I’ll be delivering a carefully curated blend of ballroom classics, soulful selections, and crowd favourites guaranteed to keep the dance floor alive.”

In addition to the music, guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres and wine. The event will also feature prizes, with the best dressed couple and the best dancer each receiving US$1,000. For patrons travelling or choosing to stay at the Jamaica Pegasus, special accommodation rates are available: US$180 for a single room and US$200 for a double room, plus taxes and service charges.

Meanwhile, Krazy Kris is equally excited to be part of the sophisticated affair.

“I am pleased to be involved and will be delivering a memorable set for guests. I am always intentional about what I present to my audience, and this will be no different,” he told the Observer Online.

Tickets are available at Sharmz Curry Pot (36 Job Lane), Don P Complex (51 Job Lane), Wok Express (53 C Molynes Road), Fontana Pharmacy Waterloo, DLUX Restaurant & Lounge (1A Caledonia Avenue), Texaco Gas Station (31 Constant Spring Road), Dusty Closet Shop #5 Clock Tower Plaza, and the Jamaica Pegasus.
