50-y-o woman among three charged in stabbing incident
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – Three people, including two women, have been charged in relation to an incident where a man was reportedly restrained and stabbed repeatedly in Westmoreland.
Charged with wounding with intent are: 48-year-old Hesford Bennie, otherwise called ‘Rebel’, 27-year-old Jessie Jones, otherwise called ‘John John’ and 50-year-old Sofia Robinson, otherwise called ‘Debbie ’, all of Big Bridge, Westmoreland.
Reports from the Savanna-la-Mar police are that about 6:30 pm, a man was walking along the roadway when he was beckoned by Jones, who was at a bar in the community.
Upon entering the establishment, he was allegedly attacked by Bennie, who stabbed him several times in the chest with a knife.
The man reportedly attempted to defend himself but was allegedly restrained by Jones, Robinson, and another woman while Bennie continued his attack.
The man subsequently escaped and collapsed outside. He was later assisted to the hospital, where he was treated.
Following investigations, Bennie, Jones, and Robinson were arrested and subsequently charged.
Their court dates are being finalised.
