Love, legacy continues…
Morgan Heritage releases first new single since Peetah Morgan’s passing
For Morgan Heritage, their latest single, Come Feel The Love is more than another recording; it is a statement of purpose as it marks the Grammy Award-winning reggae band’s first new music release since the passing of founding member Peetah Morgan.
Released on July 10 through Ghetto Youths International, Come Feel The Love signals the beginning of a new chapter for one of reggae’s most celebrated groups.
Rather than dwelling on loss, the song is a reflection of the group’s core values, one they hope will honour the memory and legacy of their late brother.
“Recording Come Feel The Love was one of the most emotional moments we’ve experienced as a family. It was our first time stepping into the studio without our brother Peetah physically beside us. And while his absence was deeply felt, we also felt his spirit reminding us to keep moving forward with love, faith, and purpose,” said Gramps Morgan. “Come Feel The Love is a reflection of our legacy. It honours where we’ve come from, while looking ahead with hope, carrying forward the values our fathers instilled in us, and continuing the work that Morgan Heritage has built over the years.”
Written and produced by nine-time Grammy Award-winning artiste, producer, and songwriter Stephen Marley, the single doubles as a love letter to the island while mirroring the resilience of a family determined to honour its past while embracing the future.
The band is embracing a new season with the same message that has defined its music for more than three decades — love, unity, faith, and cultural pride.
“This song represents so much more than a new chapter for Morgan Heritage. It celebrates the enduring legacy of our father, Denroy Morgan, alongside the legacy of Bob Marley, and what can happen when these two musical families come together,” said Gramps.
“Stephen, the family, and I have shared this musical journey for many years. And whenever we come together, it creates something special, because it’s built on genuine love, respect, and a shared mission to uplift people through music,” he added. “Jamaica has given us so much — our identity, our music, our culture, and our purpose. This song celebrates everything we love about home and invites the world to experience the same warmth and inspiration that continues to shape who we are.”
Mojo Morgan agreed, outlining that the message behind the track extends beyond Jamaica’s shores.
“Reggae has always connected people across cultures and generations,” he said. “Come Feel The Love reminds us that Jamaica’s greatest gift isn’t just its beauty; it’s the love, unity, and positive spirit that people feel the moment they arrive.”
The song’s message is brought to life in an official music video produced by Filmaica and directed by Fernando Hevia. Filmed entirely on location across Jamaica, the visuals capture many of the island’s most breathtaking landscapes and cultural landmarks, including Negril and the iconic Lovers’ Leap in St Elizabeth — locations referenced in the lyrics and deeply connected to the song’s celebration of home.
