TAJ refunds $441,000 in disputed tax deduction
Dear Claudienne
I was made redundant from the company where I worked in November 2019, but got a revised cheque in April 2021.
The amount on the cheque was below the tax threshold of $1,500,000 yet tax of $441,000 was deducted.
After submitting a claim to Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) , I have made numerous attempts to contact the refunds department of TAJ but have not heard from either the case officer or the customer service!!!!
I find this unfair and would appreciate your help in this matter.
RJ
