Vows: A Great House Affair
Your Vows team took copious notes on your behalf courtesy of a few of the wedding industry’s best players notably Luxury Weddings Worldwide (LWW) and Petals and Promises. The recently held press wedding shoot was supported by the Jamaica Tourist Board, photographer Jules Bower, and stylist Sabrina Carbone.
Modern brides want to see the magic of their day unfold prior to making the walk up the aisle. Indeed they demand to know even the most infinitesimal detail. And who can blame them!
Here’s how models Bruce Burrowes, Crystal Porter-Jackson, and Bianca Cisneros-Wynter unveiled the magic of a wedding inside the Devon House Mansion guided by Susan Barone, the director and founder of LWW, and Kara-Ann Anderson, creative director at Petals and Promises.
According to Barones, “Destination weddings should be treated as a global marketing initiative as it organically grows in that way…with so much vivid culture and history it was important to showcase a beautiful wedding venue located right in Kingston.” She shares more…
The décor inspiration… It was important to showcase one of Jamaica’s most iconic houses with a sense of style and old world charm with a modern twist. My inspirational board incorporated the vintage colours and décor with a modern-day design. The powder blues and yellows of the ballroom were the dominant colours. The décor items complemented the elements surrounding the ballroom, and the tableware was an eclectic one-of-a-kind masterpiece using vintage pieces to tie it all together.
The venue
The need to offer history, culture and something different is growing. Devon House checks all the boxes!
Selections for the bride and groom…
Models Bruce Burrowes and Crystal Porter-Jackson reflected the ideal young couple. Her dress was the Carnegie Couture Gown — a vintage look with modern flair — from the Ines Di Santos Couture Gowns collection. Her fragrance was provided by Creed and Tara Fava Custom Jewellery provided the bling. The bride carried a floral bouquet of light peach vintage roses.
Hair and make-up were done by Natalia Golding and Sue-Ann Gregg, respectively.
The groom’s smart, made-to-measure royal blue suit complemented by a Sofia Rocchetti bow tie was sourced locally from MAXBROWN International.
