Grange, Blake endorse Special Olympics Caribbean Beach Games in MoBay

ST JAMES, Jamaica — Jamaica’s Minister of Sport Olivia Grange and former 100m world champion Yohan Blake have been named patron and ambassador, respectively, for the 2026 Special Olympics Caribbean Beach Games.

Special Olympics Caribbean Executive Director Lorna Bell made the announcement during the media launch at S Hotel Montego Bay on Tuesday.

The Special Olympics Caribbean Beach Games is to be staged at Harmony Beach Park in Montego Bay from November 18-22.

The beach games — a first of its kind in Jamaica — is expected to attract approximately 20 Special Olympics regional programmes participating in swimming, football, volleyball, basketball, and bocce.

The sponsors of the beach games include the Government of Jamaica, Digicel Foundation, Lions Club International Foundation, Law Enforcement Torch Run, Aruna Abhey Oswal Trust, Florida Caribbean Cruise Association, St James Municipal Corporation, Pretty Girls Throw Foundation, and United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
