27 detained after police operation in St Catherine

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica – Lawmen attached to the Area 5 Police Division, Mobile Reserve, C-TOC, the JDF, as well as representatives from the Financial Investigation Division on Tuesday detained 27 people during a predawn operation in Central Village, St Catherine.
Among those in custody is a suspect in the July 6 triple murder on Brown Lane in the parish.
Reports are that about 3:00 am several premises were searched and the individuals taken into custody.
Several illegal electricity connections were also disconnected.
Those in custody are being processed. The police say their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
