Tastee New Kingston reopens after Public Health closure
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The New Kingston Branch of Tastee fast-food outlet reopened at 12:00 pm today, after the Public Health Department lifted its closure order yesterday.
In a statement from the food company, the Public Health Department examined the branch on August 5, where specific recommendations were made to improve the infrastructure.
Subsequently, the store was closed yesterday to allow for the company to implement the suggested infrastructural changes.
“The majority of the recommended alterations were completed within one day, with the last of these changes resolved before close of business yesterday,” Tastee said in the release.
Tastee described the situation as “unfortunate as they have always prided their business on full compliance with all regulatory bodies, whether local or international, which is illustrated in us being HACCP certified.”
“Our customers have always been our first priority and our impeccable record is a testament to our commitment to quality,” Tastee said.
“We wish to reassure our valued customers and the public at large that Tastee Ltd upholds the highest standards at all times, and we will continue to work with the Public Health Authorities to ensure that our standards are of the highest level and accordingly, our customers receive quality products and service,” the release stated.
