SIXTEEN persons and companies were last Thursday honoured by the Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation (KSAC) for their outstanding service and support to the city.

The recipients were honoured at the second KSAC pre-Emancipation Day civic ceremony, held at the National Heroes Park in Kingston.

Receiving gold medals were:

. Former Kingston Mayor Marie Atkins

. Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica Ltd

. National Commercial Bank

. Jamaica Chamber of Commerce

. The Island Special Constabulary Force, and the Jamaica Constabulary Force.

Silver medals went to:

. Bashco Trading Company Ltd

. Cable and Wireless Jamaica Ltd

. Digicel Jamaica Ltd

. GraceKennedy

. Kingston Bookshop

. Life of Jamaica Ltd, and

. Petrojam Ltd.

Taking the bronze medals were Dr Henry Lowe, Francis Kennedy and the Knutsford Court Hotel.

In his remarks, Mayor of Kingston, Councillor Desmond McKenzie lauded the recipients and noted the importance of their contributions in returning much-needed prestige to the city of Kingston.
