Frazsiers Whip, Flamingo FC toast at LIME awards
On a day when telecommunication giants LIME scored a hat-trick in lower mobile talk time rates, Frazsiers Whip and Flamingo FC were the toast of the LIME sponsored 74th St Catherine Football Association Awards Ceremony on Thursday night.
Chairman of LIME Christopher Dehring, whose copmany had earlier rocked the nation by announcing unbelievably low rates, and in football parlance, said his organisation had registered a hattrick, which is three consecutive goals.
“$1.99 postpaid, $2.99 for prepaid and $2.99 to call Canada, that’s a hattrick,” revealed Dehring, who was the main speaker at the awards function at the Police Academy in Twickenham Park, Spanish Town.
Dehring was making reference to the rates of $1.99 for post paid customers in making LIME to LIME calls, $2.99 for prepaid clients to call locally and overseas and $6.99 to call other networks.
“If you didn’t get to catch the news this evening, I am pleased to inform you that today, we made history again, when we introduced a stunning new low mobile rates of $2.99, the lowest mobile rate in Jamaica’s history,” he added.
Dehring also used the occasion to mention the values of football, in teamwork, team spirit and discipline, all that will help the players in their lives after football.
“You think you are playing football but you really are playing a game of life. You will always use that way of thinking in life,” he pointed out.
“Tonight we say congratulation to all the players and coaches who participated in the competition. For those who will receive awards, we encourage you to keep playing hard and working hard and it will pay off,” said Dehring, who represented Jamaica at youth football and cricket.
“Congratulation also to the champions of the St Catherine football leagues and let us all remember that at this is the end of another season and we all stand victorious,” added Dehring.
