Wonderful motor show in MoBay
DUMP Up Beach in Montego Bay, St James, was the venue for the second leg of the this year’s Jamaica Motor Show on Sunday.
Organised by Firm Marketing Agency, in association with Scotia Bank, The RJR Group, Guardsman Alarm and KIA Motors, the event kicked off in fine style around 10 a.m. with a wide array of top new- and used-cars from Kingston and Montego Bay.
Ian Lyn, conceptuliser/CEO of Firm Agency, explained the thinking behind the car show.
“People still want to buy cars, whether new or used. We are thrilled to offer this platform to Jamaicans to get affordable car deals in the current economic times, as well as to offer a unique market for players in the used and new-car industry,” he said.
Many patrons were seen test driving their favourite brands, enquiring about prices and talking with
financial institutions.
The highlight of the event, however, was the Tata Nano. Know as the smallest car on the island and its fuel efficiency.
Made for the Indian market, the Nano found its way in the market via Metis Motors.
Joe Ferriera, CEO of the company, is up beat about the vehicle and its phenomeon fuel efficiecy. “$820 worth of gas can take you from Kingston to Montego Bay, no other four-wheeler can beat that,” he said.
KIA motors sales representative Cedric Cousins was on hand to represent the company show off a wide range of there cars, ranging from small cars to full size SUVs.
Over all, the event was a success and patron enjoyed every moment of it.
