CC hold edge over Spot Valley in ISSA Boys basketball
MONTEGO BAY, St James – FORMER champions Cornwall College will hold a psychological edge over defending champions Spot Valley High School when they meet in the final of the ISSA Western Conference Under-14 Boys’ Basketball Competition tomorrow at the Montego Bay Cricket Club starting at 2:00pm.
Cornwall College, which won the first three stagings of the competition before Spot Valley won last year, beat their opponents twice this season on their way to an undefeated record of six wins for 12 points.
Spot Valley finished second with 10 points and gets the chance to defend their title, hoping to add to the Girls Open title they won earlier, beating defending champions William Knibb Memorial in the final.
In their two games played this season, Cornwall College won 38-25 in their first meeting in Montego Bay, then 33-24 in a rescheduled game played at Spot Valley a week later.
