Holness needs real life experience
Dear Editor,
Audley Shaw has proven himself to be a man of action and real life experiences. With him as Minister of Finance he was able to keep our dollar stable, and build our national reserves to comfortable levels in a period when the USA and most of Europe were in a serious state of recession. He has served the party well as a deputy leader and is an experienced businessman.
On the other side of the contest, Andrew Holness has a laid-back approach and simply cannot connect with the grass roots of the country.
While he is an educated man, he never really gained any business experience in the real world of the private sector. He has probably never experienced failure and as such has a warped view of life. Let us not forget that he was Edward Seaga’s special assistant before entering representational politics.
He probably never had to face the bank or creditors or had the responsibility of running a business.
It is, therefore, unfair to expect him to be able to run a national political party and the country coming from this inexperienced background.
