Timber Pitbull featuring Ke$ha
PITBULL does not mind making mindless hip-pop. Why should he? When Pitbull was a rapper on the come-up in Florida’s rap scene, he never got the commercial acclaim as he has now, doing dance music crossovers. His new single Timber is another solidification of him being a Top 40 music staple.
In Timber, Pitbull hooks up with Ke$ha for another club-banger in his collection. The song features a unique harmonica sample during hook, with Ke$ha further flavouring the chorus with a Southern Mid-Western twang singing, “It’s going down, I’m yelling Timber.”
Pitbull is also trying to recreate the attention he got for name-dropping Lindsay Lohan in his number one hit Give Me Everything, by calling out Internet-favourite-of-the-moment Miley Cyrus.
Timber may have little to no substance, but that’s not what listeners are aiming for in a contemporary Pitbull track. They just want another song that’s good for a party, and once again Pitbull has delivered.
