Blakk Blunt’s winning ‘Touch’
Deejay Blakk Blunt is busy promoting his latest song Thief and Touch which is produced by Lockecity Music Group.
Blakk Blunt, whose given name is Lauren Haughton, is originally from Jobs Lane in Spanish Town but moved to the United Kingdom in 1999.
A graduate of Spanish Town High School, he cites Bounty Killer, Sizzla, Super Cat and American rapper Ja Rule as early influences.
He hooked up with the King Tobby’s sound system shortly after arriving in London. Later, he and a few friends formed the Mighty Stereo Mellow sound system which competed in numerous clashes throughout the British capital.
Blackk Blunt then went into recording, teaming with reggae artiste Mega Links on a number of tracks. He also worked as opening act for Capleton, Buju Banton, Mavado and Gyptian when they performed in the UK.
His previous songs include Woman Intuition, a tribute to Olympian Usain Bolt and Sleepy Eyes.
