Look within to replace Mayor Lee
Dear Editor,
It has been coming through the pipeline that the top brass of the PNP are steadfast in appointing a representative from outside of the precincts of the jurisdiction of the Portmore community to replace George Lee. We need a replacement from within the Portmore locality to replace Mayor Lee.
We have competent replacements for Mr Lee who can do as dynamic a job as he was doing. It is only right and just for someone within Portmore to be an apt replacement for the great stalwart.
Mr Anthony Wint is a bright man and a credible replacement who has the credentials to do a wonderful job in getting the area back to where it was heading before the great tragedy. We cannot continue to circumvent hard-working councillors and place outside people in the areas where competent ones exist. Wint exercises great honesty and has a high level of integrity, plus a well-defined visionary leadership acumen in representing his constituents. He’s humble and respects the views of those he represents. He’s the only one who can be relied on to continue George Lee’s vision for a better Portmore.
Many others who have been making sterling and selfless contributions to the area also need to be part of the operation of the new Portmore. We want one from among us to be the next mayor for Portmore, and it should be without question.
This situation as it exists today needs to be addressed urgently before it creates a problem in the municipality. There are many with the requisite know-how and practical working instincts to move the community to the
next level.
