Jermaine Edwards for Fun in the Son
GOSPEL artiste Jermaine Edwards is slated to perform at Best Dressed Fun in the Son scheduled for the Portmore Town Centre in St Catherine, on Saturday, July 12.
Edwards, the only gospel Brand Ambassador for telecoms provider Digicel, is no stranger to the Fun in the Son stage. He performed in 2011 and 2012.
“This is the biggest gospel show for the year and it is a privilege to be on it,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
Edwards — whose album Destiny (2009) won an impressive five awards in the 2010 Caribbean Gospel Marlin Awards, including: Song of the Year for Make You Smile and Album of the Year — said he has a great performance in store.
“I do all genre… reggae, worship. So people can come see a varied band selection and a soulful rendition of paced music,” he said.
Now in its 11th staging, Best Dressed Fun in the Son is hosted by Jamaica Broilers and produced by Glory Music. International recording artiste Kirk Franklin and Simply Chrysolite, an all-girls group from South Africa, have performed at the festival.
