UPDATE: Taxi operator attempts to kill family, commits suicide

Sean Sappleton, a 40-year-old truck driver and taxi operator, is reported to have locked himself and his wife and two daughters inside their two-bedroom home in Longville Park.
He reportedly doused the premises with a flammable substance and set the building on fire.
However, quick action on the part of neighbours led to his wife and children being spared, as they pulled his family out of the burning building through a window.
They were taken to hospital where the police say they have been admitted in serious condition.
Sappleton’s charred body was found in the kitchen.
The police say investigations are continuing.
