KC to begin defence of ISSA Urban U14, U16 football titles
THE 2016 Inter-Secondary School Sports Association (ISSA) Urban High Schools Under-14 and Under-14 football competitions are scheduled to kick off today with double headers at several venues, starting at 1:45 and 3:15 pm, respectively.
Kingston College (KC) defeated Camperdown High 2-1 in the Under-14 final, while the aggregation from North Street beat Bridgeport High to capture the Under-16 final.
Meanwhile, the schools in both the Under-14 and Under-16 competitions are divided into several groups.
Matches to be played this afternoon are as follows:
ZONE A – Under-14 and Under-16 – Norman Manley High vs St Andrew Technical High School (STATHS); Oberlin High vs Wolmer’s Boys’; Excelsior High vs Innswood High.
ZONE B –Vauxhall High vs St Jago High; Cedar Grove vs Kingston College; Meadowbrook High vs Dunoon Technical High.
The other schools and their respective zones are as follows:
ZONE C – Camperdown High, Hydel High, Hillel Academy, Calabar High, Tivoli High, Jonathan Grant High.
ZONE D – Kingston High, Tarrant High, Donald Quarrie High, Eltham High, Jose Marti Technical High, Bridgeport High.
ZONE E – Kingston Technical High (KTHS), Charlie Smith High, Ascot High, Jamaica College, St Mary’s College, Edith Dalton-James High.
ZONE F – Waterford High, Cumberland High, Mona High, Holy Trinity High, Pembroke Hall High, Ardenne High.
ZONE G – Penwood High, St Catherine High, Clan Carthy High, Papine High.
Home teams are named first with matches beginning at 1:45 pm and 3:15 pm, respectively, with double-headers. If there are no double-headers the lone match will start at 3:00 pm. Matches are scheduled for Thursday and Friday for the other zones.
