NWC starts customer census mapping in KSA
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Water Commission (NWC) through its Geographic Information System (GIS) department will be commencing its Kingston and St Andrew Customer Census Mapping Project on Monday.
The NWC, in a release on Friday, said that the Kingston and St Andrew (KSA) Customer Census Mapping Project is the first leg of what is intended to be an islandwide initiative. The project entails a door-to-door survey conducted by NWC personnel of existing and potential customers and mapping them using global positioning system-enabled Android devices.
The successful implementation of the project will provide several benefits, not just for the commission but for its customers as well.
These include better service delivery, improved responsiveness to complaints, better customer service, more effective updating of the customer database, speedier detecting of billing irregularities and better locating and monitoring of services to different category of customer accounts.
The census will be conducted between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm each day for approximately five months within KSA. Among the first areas to benefit from the project are:

· Manor Park
·Norbrook
· Sections off Hope Road
·Sections off Constant Spring Road
