TRELAWNY, Jamaica — Shimron Hetmyer fell three short of a century as West Indies President’s Eleven reached 214-4 at tea on day one of their three-day game against touring Pakistan at the Trelawny Stadium here Saturday.

Vishal Singh not out 39 and Jahmar Hamilton, 7, will resume after the break.  Left-arm fast bowler Mohammad Amir (1-30), left-arm spinner Mohammad Asghar  1-43 and the right-arm wrist spinner Yasir Shah (1-66) have been the wicket takers for Pakistan so far.

Resuming after lunch at 119-1, the President’s Eleven lost three wickets for 95 runs in the two-hour session. 

The free-flowing, left-handed 20 year-old Hetmyer (97) was first to go, edging a bouncing delivery from Shah for Younis Khan at slip to take a sharp, one-handed catch to his right at 150-2. Hetmyer hit 11 fours and two sixes and faced 115 balls.

Opener Kieran Powell (58) fell shortly after, run out on a direct hit from cover as he wandered from his crease in quest of a non-existent single. The left-handed Nevisian hit five fours and a six and faced 112 balls.

Shamarh Brooks (9), bogged down by the Pakistani bowlers fell after 47 balls, trapped leg before by Asghar’s arm ball.
