#CariftaGames: U-18 boys set new record as Ja strikes three 4x100m golds
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Under-18 girls’ team of Briana Williams, Kevona Davis, Brittany Anderson and Michae Harriot were this evening disqualified, despite outrunning their opponents, due to a lane infringement at the FLOW CARIFTA Games currently underway in Curacoa.
Gold was awarded to Bahamas (45.05s), silver to Trinidad and Tobago (46.49s) and Guadeloupe (46.84s) walked away with the bronze.
On the male side, Jamaica’s team ran a stunning 39.97s to set a new meet record as they captured gold in the event. Second was Bahamas (40.77s) while Trinidad and Tobago (40.84s) copped bronze.
Meanwhile, the Under-20 girls’ team of Kasheika Cameron, Aneka Brissett, Taqece Duggan, and Tissanna Hickling ran a brilliant 44.83s to cop gold, pushing The Bahamas (46.45s) and the Turks and Caicos Island (48.85s) into second and third respectively.
The boys’ Under-20 team continue Jamaica’s dominance on the track with Christopher Taylor, Jelani Walker, Tyreke Bryan and Delano Dunckley clocking 40.10s to take the gold.
Trinidad and Tobago (40.24s) and The Bahamas (40.59s) rounded out the medal tally.
