Three Cartoons Your Children Should Be Watching
As children we would often be scolded for watching television and told to pursue more academic and uplifting pursuits. Luckily, children now live in a world where they can learn and be entertained by the cartoons they watch; it’s now branded edutainment. So here are three cartoons your children (2 years to 8 years) should be watching:
1. Max and Ruby
Max and Ruby centers around the daily adventures of its title characters; three-year-old Max and seven-year-old Ruby. In each episode Max and Ruby deal with issues of such as sibling rivalry and independence among other things. Max can be a little naughty and Ruby a little stubborn but this adds to the series’ humour.
2. Doc McStuffins
As a parent with a daughter I love cartoons with strong female characters and that’s what you find with Doc McStuffins. This cartoons follows a young girl who interestingly doctors her toys back to health (yes the toys get sick). It helps teach children about problem solving and friendship, while being extremely cool to watch.
3. Super Why
If you have children like mine then they’re always asking ‘why?’, and after you’ve given an answer, they again ask ‘why?’ Well, Super Why is a reading based cartoon that fosters the natural curiosity of young viewers by asking and answering interesting questions. You’ll find your child having increased knowledge, reading better and, obviously, asking ‘Why?’ a lot more!
There are many more cartoons that will be great for your child to watch, such as:
• Peppa Pig
• Sid the Science Kid
• Olivia
• Wonder Pets
• Paw Patrol
• Sofia the First
• Ask the Storybots
