THE eighth staging of Caution Blackout, held in Roxborough, St Ann, last Wednesday, was an epic affair. Dancehall aficionados came out dressed to impress in what was dubbed the classic all-black event for the Easter weekend.

With food and liquor in abundance, patrons danced up a storm to a plethora of current and past hits, courtesy of DJ Ashile from Irie FM, DJ Polish from New York, and Noah Wid The Powa.

The vibes were turned up a notch when dancehall veteran Bounty Killer, who hosted the event, took the stage and belted out songs from his large catalogue.

Promoter Sollo Caution was upbeat when the Jamaica Observer caught up with him moments after the event had ended.

“The highlight of the party was definitely the music from the DJs and, of course, Bounty Killer’s performance, which was high-energy and filled with the hits,” said Sollo Caution.

The first Caution was held locally in 2009 at the Lighthouse in Salem, Runaway Bay. It has evolved into one of the main events of the Easter season in St Ann.

“The all-black concept was not even visualised when the first staging was held. It was after the second staging that the Caution brand and the vision became a reality. I realised the impact the quality of the event had on the patrons and, ever since, my goal had always been to maintain the standard and brand while providing a great night of music and fun,” Sollo Caution added.
