Birds of Prey: Chaotic fun & carnage fuels badass all-female cast
“Isn’t this fun? It’s just like a sleepover.
*Gasp* We should order pizza!”
BUZZ, focus… Okay, so listen.
Warner Brothers Pictures is seemingly on a roll – hitting all the right notes as Birds of Prey gears up for an explosive debut in 2020.
After dropping the first teaser trailer on Tuesday, fans of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) got a glimpse of what befell everyone’s favourite crazed criminal Harley Quinn after Suicide Squad.
Quinn, who is left reeling after splitting with the Joker, joins superheroes Black Canary (played by Jurnee Smolett-Bell), Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez) to save a young Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco) from evil crime lord, Black Mask (Ewan McGregor) in Gotham City.
Warner: ‘How much screen time do you want?’ Harley: ‘YESSSS’
Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) also slams the door on misogynists, as the titular (sometime-ish) vigilante refuses to conform to a life of servitude and we’re here for it!
The two-minute trailer was jampacked with action,
mayhem and looks downright thrilling!
The upcoming superhero film is the first attempt at a silver screen adaptation of the iconic Birds of Prey comics by Jordan B. Gorfinkel and Chuck Dixon — which will hit cinemas in the US on February 7, 2020.
Now, for the best part, the trailer! Check it out below:
So, BUZZ fam? How are we feeling about this first trailer? Is the DCEU finally taking movies seriously to challenge Disney and Marvel?
