Reigning pop princess Rihanna and her now-timeless ANTI album just created history on the Billboard 200 as the longest-charting entry by a black woman – remaining on the charts for a record 191 weeks.

As at the week of October 5, 2019, Rihanna and ANTI notched their 191st week on the tally, effectively breezing past Beyoncé’s third solo effort, 2008’s I Am…Sasha Fierce, to become the longest-running R&B album on the Billboard 200.

Queen Bey’s Single Ladies-led LP previously owned the title for its 190-week run on the chart.

Released in January 2016, ANTI, Rihanna’s 8th studio effort, peaked at #1. The album gave rise to a new sleuth of hits, such as the Dancehall-infused bop Work, as well as pop anthems Needed Me, Kiss It Better, and Love on the Brain.

In the absence of new music (looking at you RiRi), Rihanna’s legion of fans, #TheNavy, still desperate for the Bajan songstress, pushed sales over the last week – rising ANTI up to #137 on the Billboard 200’s most refreshed edition.

Obviously, as calls for the Rihanna’s

yet-titled ninth album grow louder, the delay has forced #Navy fans to cling ever-so

tightly to ANTI’s content, which contributed greatly to the LP’s incredible buoyancy

on Billboard 200.
