CARIFTA Games: Prince through to Boys’ 110m hurdles final, Granville crashes out
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Demario Prince will be hoping to hoist Jamaica’s flag in the Boys’ 110m hurdles on Monday’s final day of the 49th CARIFTA Games at the National Stadium after Jhavel Granville crashed out in the morning’s semi-finals.
Granville, who won the Under 20 event at the CARIFTA Trials and the Class 1 Boys’ gold medal at the recent ISSA/GraceKennedy boys Champs, hit the first two hurdles and crashed out as Curacao’s Matthew Sophia went on to win the second semi-final in 14.10 seconds (-4.8m/s), the fastest of the morning.
Prince won the first semi in 14.61 seconds (-4.0m/s), while Antoine Andrews of the Bahamas clocked 14.19 seconds (-4.8m/s) and St Lucia’s Khailan Vitalis, who clocked 14.65 seconds, (-4.0m/s) also advanced to the final.
