Pistol, ammo found in man’s knapsack
A man is now in custody after a firearm and several rounds of ammunition were found in a knapsack he was carrying on McKenzie Drive, Kingston 14 on Wednesday.
Reports from the Denham Town police are that about 3:15 pm, members of the Jamaica Defence Force were in the area when explosions were heard.
Upon arrival at the location, a man was seen acting in a manner that aroused their suspicion.
He was accosted and searched, during which a 9mm Glock pistol fitted with a magazine containing fourteen cartridges was found in a knapsack.
An additional magazine with six cartridges was also found.
The man was arrested and taken into custody pending further investigations.
