Jabez salutes mothers on new single One Mother
With Mothers’ Day just a few days away, gospel singer Jabez is gearing up for the release of the song One Mother.
The track is based on his very own experience of the passing of his mother when he was 17-years-old, with the artiste further sharing that her death was the hardest thing he had to overcome during his school years.
“
One Mother is based on my experience of losing my mother so many years ago. When the words came, I cried. This is also dedicated to those who have lost their mothers. Stay strong,” Jabez told the Jamaica Observer.
Jabez is making waves in gospel music circles with one of his latest singles Glorious Day which is produced by Craig McDonald.
“
Glorious Day was released about a month ago and it has been doing well. It is the title of my tour of the United States [Glorious City Tour] which starts on May 10 in Fort Lauderdale at the Ambassador SDA Church. We also have confirmed dates in New York for July 5 and 6,” said Jabez.
Before he made the move into gospel, Jabez dabbled in secular music. He also entered the JCDC Gospel Song competition three times, where he placed second and third.
“The doors that the JCDC Gospel Song competition opened for me were good. I got national attention, and the experience helped my craft to prepare me for the big stage,” Jabez reasoned.
He became a born-again Christian at the age of 22.
“I gave my life to Christ at the age of 22 and the journey has been challenging, but God kept me through it all,” he said.
Jabez, real name Clive Provost, is from Linstead in St Catherine. He has released several albums including Re-Connect, Still Praying and Favour Again.
He is presently working on a new album, which he says is scheduled to be released in a few months.
Planet Rock Music, Craig McDonald and Dajourney Production are among the producers on the project.
Among Jabez’s better known songs are You Are Healed, Drinking From my Saucer, Before the Day is Over, and Help Me T hrough the Storm.
